Volunteer with St. Mary's

St. Mary’s offers a number of ways to volunteer:

Food Pantry

There are many different jobs to do, including bagging bread and baked goods, picking up donated food from vendors, data entry, cleaning, packing, unloading food into the pantry and assisting clients. Click here for more information.

Grounds and facilities

St. Mary’s has a peaceful campus that offers quiet meditative spaces for visitors.

  • Tend our quiet garden areas and/or work in the vegetable garden.

  • Help with yard clean-up

  • Put your handy skills to use, completing needed maintenance and repair tasks

  • Clean and paint as needed

Pastoral program

This ministry of presence is open to those who have taken our Spiritual Companioning workshop and those who have taken one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education. An interview and a period of shadowing Mother Beth or another pastoral leader are required before acceptance to this program will be considered.  This is for the protection and well-being of all.

Please note: All prospective volunteers must undergo a background check and complete Safeguarding God’s People and Safeguarding God’s Children (made available for you as well as computer time, if needed, for completion).  If you have taken the Safeguarding training fewer than five years ago, documentation can be provided to satisfy the requirement. All staff and volunteers must take the training for renewal every 5 years.
