Support for St. Mary's is Support for the Community
As a mission organization, we rely on support from the wider community, including individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations around the First Coast.
All that we do is made possible by YOU. With only two full-time and two part-time employees, our food pantry and gardens are almost entirely run by volunteers who come from near and far – Episcopalians from all around the diocese, friends from other faith traditions, and neighbors from diverse backgrounds who want to help make sure no one goes hungry.
In this moment, more and more of our neighbors in Jacksonville’s urban core are finding there is not enough – not enough affordable housing or healthcare, not enough access to work and transportation, and not enough income to take care of life’s basic needs.
All who come to St. Mary’s are offered A Place at the Table, where food is shared along with love and respect for the dignity of every human being. It is not our table, after all, but Christ’s. And it is Christ who makes the table open to all who need nourishment for body and spirit. Our job is simply to participate in what God is doing and witness the goodness of the feast. This has been the joyful call of our mission for more than 60 years.
